The Armorique Regional National Park

A true concentrate of Brittany, the Armorique Regional Natural Park offers an astonishing mosaic of landscapes, among the most remarkable on the peninsula.

Did you know? The Armorique Regional Natural Park was the second park to be created in France in 1969. It covers 125,000 hectares, including 60,000 hectares of maritime land.

A Regional Natural Park (PNR) is an exceptional and fragile territory that the French government has decided to classify and protect, both to enhance its value and to address key sustainable development issues. Its mission is to support the sustainable development of its territory.

Located in the Finistère department, the Park covers four very contrasting territories, between land, sea, and... mountains! :

  • The islands of the Iroise Sea (Molène, Sein, Ouessant)
  • The Crozon Peninsula
  • Brest Harbor
  • The Aulne Valley
  • The Monts d'ArrĂ©e

After Morlaix, almost alone in the world, you will cycle on an old railway line that has become a greenway, very wooded where you will probably come across a few caravans and horse riders. Then the forests give way to the characteristic moors of the Monts d'Arrée. A very natural bike ride in total immersion, you unfold the greenway in complete serenity. A few kilometers from the greenway, Huelgoat, its lake and its forest including the famous Trembling Rock are well worth tackling a steep climb. You will finish this stage in Carhaix, the meeting place of the "Vieilles Charrues"!
