Day 1: Hossegor (10 km)
Start off your weekend by visiting the Les Halles market for a couple’s breakfast, then continue to the Hossegor seafront to see the town’s Basque-Landes architecture. At lunch time, ride your bikes to the gourmet restaurant Jean des Sables. Awaken your senses as you savour the delectable cuisine of Michelin-starred chef Jean Cousseau and his lieutenant Clément Richard.
What you do in the afternoon is up to you! Golf lovers can head to the Hossegor golf course. Not your thing? Ride to the lake and enjoy a relaxing afternoon on the Plage Blanche beach.
Go for a bike ride around Lake Hossegor, following the cycling paths to explore all of the facets of this natural wonder.
Along the way, you can stop to see oyster farmer Chez Jérôme, who will offer you a platter of oysters with a nice glass of wine to go with them. Finish circling the lake and you’ll reach the restaurant La Tétrade côté Lac, where you can sample their platter Assiette de Pays.
🛏️ Join your accommodation with the Accueil Vélo label: Hotel 202 with its heated swimming pool and sauna.
Day 2: Hossegor > Capbreton (10 km)
Today, set off to conquer Capbreton, just a few kilometers from Hossegor. When you get to Capbreton harbour, you have to stop at the fish market, an institution here! In the stalls here, local fishers sell their catch of the day directly to customers without going through distributors. In the afternoon, continue your gastronomy tour on La Vélodyssée, heading south to the winery Le Domaine de La Pointe. You can visit the vineyard and then do a tasting of the vintages produced there. Share an intimate moment and learn about how ‘vin de sable’ (literally, sand wine) is made. Head back the way you came to return to Capbreton and enjoy a stroll on the seafront.
🛏️ For the night, you can stay at the Baya Hôtel & Spa, certified Accueil Vélo. Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation in the hotel spa.
Take a seat on the panoramic terrace of the restaurant: Le Bistro’ Baya. Breathtaking view of the ocean guaranteed! You will enjoy one of the tasty menus, concocted with passion by the chef, in front of the most beautiful sunset on the south coast!
Day 3: Capbreton > Hossegor (10 km)
On your last day, prepare for a morning of pampering. Take advantage of the hotel's wellness area to recharge your batteries. A wide range of Thai treatments are available, so be sure to book your treatments in advance!
For lunch, the restaurant Ma cabane sur le port offers you a warm and cosy setting. On the menu are house-made dishes full of flavour and made from fresh, seasonal products.
In the afternoon, ride La Vélodyssée one last time to return to Hossegor. When you arrive, take some time to enjoy the sweet treat of ice cream by Tante Jeanne, made with milk from the owners’ farm in Landes.
You can then go to the beach and enjoy a final moment of relaxation before ending your romantic escapade on this Hossegor cycling route.
After returning your bicycles, it’s time to get back to your car or the bus stop to head to home sweet home.
