Located just a stone's throw from Les Sables-d’Olonne, come and discover this area at the heart of the marshes and woodlands, with the gentle Auzance and Vertonne rivers.
In L'Ile d'Olonne, the salt sellers will welcome you for a tasting and a guided tour of the traditional salt marshes. Close by is the bird observatory, where you can get up close with nature. Take a trip in a horse-drawn carriage, visit the Musée de la Petite Gare and the church bell tower with its panoramic view over the Olonne marshes and the bird sanctuary! Each Wednesday, the village hosts the "Mercredis de l’Eté" event (exhibitions, shows and night-time markets). "Fête des Vieux Métiers" in July.
Then continue your journey to Vairé for a canoe tour of the Auzance valley, and footpaths and cycle paths that criss-cross through a varied landscape with numerous view points. In July, the Festiv’Arts event offers health and guidance activities for young and old alike in the heart of the village.
