🔴 10/05 at 2:45 PM – SITUATION UPDATE
GIRONDE
Gironde is currently under red wildfire alert (level 4/5). La Vélodyssée is open to traffic again in the department, with the exception of the sections directly affected by the wildfires between Lacanau-Océan (north) and Lège-Cap-Ferret (south), which remain closed until further notice for safety reasons (risk of falling trees, poor air quality).
Two solutions are available to you:
🚴 Continue by bike via the Tour de la Gironde then the Canal des 2 Mers, to reach Royan to the north or Biganos to the south.
🚆 Take the train using the Train + Bike feature on France Vélo Tourisme, with Royan or Soulac-sur-Mer stations to the north, and Biganos or Arcachon to the south: en.francevelotourisme.com/planifier
