🔴 10/05 at 2:45 PM – SITUATION UPDATE

GIRONDE

Gironde is currently under red wildfire alert (level 4/5). La Vélodyssée is open to traffic again in the department, with the exception of the sections directly affected by the wildfires between Lacanau-Océan (north) and Lège-Cap-Ferret (south), which remain closed until further notice for safety reasons (risk of falling trees, poor air quality).

Two solutions are available to you:

  • 🚴 Continue by bike via the Tour de la Gironde then the Canal des 2 Mers, to reach Royan to the north or Biganos to the south.

  • 🚆 Take the train using the Train + Bike feature on France Vélo Tourisme, with Royan or Soulac-sur-Mer stations to the north, and Biganos or Arcachon to the south: en.francevelotourisme.com/planifier

🟧 Passable, but leads to closed sectors

These sections remain accessible but lead directly to the closed zone. We recommend not entering them if your route needs to continue beyond.

🟩 Alternative cycling routes

Tour de la Gironde and Canal des 2 Mers, allowing you to bypass the closed zone to reach Royan to the north or Biganos to the south.
